The auditing results of Expo Shanghai will be published in 2011, Xu Aisheng, a senior official of China National Audit Office, recently told Xinhua news agency.
Shanghai Auditing Bureau is auditing the various projects of Expo Shanghai under the guidance of China National Audit Office, Xu said. The results would be announced to the public in 2011 “at a proper time,” the report said.
“Upon the request of China’s State Council, since March, 2005 we have required Shanghai Auditing Bureau to audit the management of Expo’s construction projects as well as the working capital,” Xu said.
Xu said national auditing office would work hard to achieve the goal of “Thrifty Expo, Clean Expo” and ensure that the Expo 2010 would be a splendid, successful and unforgettable event.
Shanghai May Han Zheng said in a recent press conference that the total investment of World Expo Shanghai would be controlled within 18 billion yuan. The total operating cost was expected to reach 10.6 billion, he said.
