A total of 2,010 overseas Chinese yesterday gathered under the roof of the "Oriental Crown" in a joyful visit to the China Pavilion.
Li Haifeng, head of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, said overseas Chinese have taken an active part in the promotion of the 2010 World Expo. She invited overseas Chinese to visit the site and contribute to China's development.
Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng said the fair, as a grand gathering, would further cooperation and exchange between the mainland and people living in other nations.
The series of events would continue as more overseas Chinese would join the team to visit the Expo, he said.
